Try making your own treats with this easy recipe. You can substitute liver with tuna.
Ingredients:
250 gms of liver ox, lamb, pig, or chicken
8 tablespoons of plain flour
2 eggs
8 tablespoons of milk or more or less. You should end up with a sticky goo. Add more flour or milk as appropriate.
Put the liver into a food processor and mix to almost a liquid, add the other ingredients and mix together
pour into a microwaveable container or oven proof container lightly greased. Microwave for 10-12 minutes on full power
or
bake in a medium oven for about 30 minutes times will vary depending on the size of your container.
You can add garlic and herbs if you like.
This is a good way to use up old fleece tops and blankets. Sometimes you can pick up very cheap remnants in fabric shops.
Simply cut the fleece into strips 2 or 3 inches wide (5 - 8 cm) and knot one end together tightly, leaving some fabric at the end. It can help to
secure the knotted end or get someone else to hold it. Then plait the 3 strips until you have about 4 - 6 inches (10 - 15cm) left or the tug is as
long as you want it to be, then knot again tightly. If you want a softer tug, just plait more loosely; plait tightly for a tougher tug.
Save for the humming of the bees
And raindrops falling thro' the trees
The wood was silent as a grave
Whilst shafts of sunlight made a brave
Attempt to pierce the velvet gloom
As lonely as an empty room
And then a voice called out quite near
"So there you are, old chap, come here"
And sitting there upon a log
Was my best friend, who said: "Good Dog"
Alone was I but not afraid
The friend I'd been with must have strayed
For tho' I called no answer came
And so I called and called again
Still no answer came
And so I played a splendid game
In the bracken wet and thick
With my favourite walking stick
“Firstly I have to say that I have a transformed dog!! She is now a delight to take out - hardly ever kicking off now except in challenging
narrow spaces whilst on the lead. I thought she was being aggressive but clearly it was anxiety . The socialisation in the class has helped
enormously and the obedience is coming on as well!! She's had a brain transplant - walks have become a pleasure instead of high octane
worry!
I mentioned agility classes fir her - i think she would enjoy the challenge - she obviously loves ‘working’ !!
Thanks so much for your good advice and clear teaching!!”
